When I reviewed Rittenhouse's Ordinarium earlier this month, I was ultra impressed with the gorgeous, dreamlike graphics, but not so impressed with the clunky controls.
I'm pleased to announce that Rittenhouse is planning to release a massive update to its dreamy game later today, eliminating the control stick in favor of a more fluid control system that's far more precise than the original control scheme. If you were already satisfied with the controls, don't worry, you can still access the classic joystick in the options menu.
Rittenhouse has also added some gameplay updates. At its core, Ordinarium is a fishing game where the goal is to eat smaller creatures while avoiding larger ones, so the original iteration was a bit simplistic. In this update, you will find all new creatures, like the Berry Mama, who is not happy that you're gobbling up her babies.
Berry Mama is hungry for revenge, so you must avoid her attempts to hunt you down by staying out of her grasp. You will also need to work a bit harder for your dinner - prey will now flee from your hungry maw, making the game more challenging.
Sound intriguing? You can download Ordinarium from the App Store for just $0.99, or win a copy directly from us. We've teamed up with Rittenhouse to offer AppAdvice readers a chance to win one of 10 promo codes. To enter to win, just leave a comment on this post by Friday, May 4 at 4 p.m. PST. Good luck!
