Centrifeud Gets An Update, Adds Team Mode And Hamburgers

May 7, 2012
Centrifeud ($1.99), the minimalist, futuristic party game for the iPad just got a big update. Now, you don’t just have to play against others. You can team up and start a real rivalry at the next family event. Centrifeud is a multi-player game where the goal is to grab a purple hexagon for points. The first one to 13 points wins the game. Use one of six different power-ups to help you slow your opponent and earn the most points.

To be played with between two and four players, this game uses only a single button for all your controlling needs. Just touch the button with the color you choose and your disc will start spinning around the arena. You can bounce off of walls, or other player’s discs to change direction, or let go of your button and your disc will stop moving, but continue rotating. Once the disc is facing the direction you want to go, touch your button again to start moving.

In the version 1.1 update, players can team up, two against two, or two against one. Sisters can now compete against brothers, parents against kids, or cats against dogs. The testosterone-fueled team up possibilities are endless. In addition to Team mode, players can now join after a match has started. There are two new power-ups; ghost and homingball. Ghost turns your disc transparent so you can move through opponents and avoid collisions. Homingball causes the hexagon to gravitate toward your disc so you can reach it faster. The developers also fixed the ratings button and added point goal messaging at player lock-in. My favorite addition in the update to this app is hamburgers. I don’t know what that means yet, but anything that adds hamburgers is all right in my book. If you already own Centrifeud, the update is free. If not, download it for the iPad for $1.99 in the App Store today.
