Clear Channel Media Announces Major Update To iHeartRadio For iPad
May 3, 2012
Clear Channel Media today released version 4.0 of their popular streaming music app, iHeartRadio for iPad. First launched in April 2011, the free app now includes custom stations, support for Retina display, improved Facebook integration, and other new features.
Custom Stations allow users to create their own personalized stations by simply entering an artist or song. From there, iHeartRadio will then create a station of similar music.
Using the app’s “discovery tuner” feature, users can tune their custom station to play familiar songs, or adjust the tuner to “discovery mode” to play a wider variety of artists and songs from iHeartRadio’s music catalog.
Each custom station is commercial-free.
Naturally, iHeartRadio for iPad’s new Retina display capabilities work with the new iPad, which was first released in March. Because of this, you’ll notice the app’s visual clarity is improved considerably.
Finally, deeper Facebook integration, lets users share listening activity with friends via their timelines and tap into each other’s musical tastes by listening to songs and stations that they like. This deeper Facebook integration serves as a means to greater music discovery, making users’ digital radio experiences more personal and relevant.
According to Brian Lakamp, President of Digital for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment:
With this update to the iHeartRadio for iPad App, we’ve focused intently on user feedback. We wanted to make sure it was the experience our millions of users wanted and expected from us – and we’re thrilled with how it has all come together.Full Version 4.0 features include:
