Invy - Event planner ($1.99) by Bread & Pepper is a beautiful date picker for your iPhone. It’s never been easier for you to arrange a date to gather with friends and family!

You know how it goes — you want to spend some time with your friends that you haven’t seen for a while, but when is a good time for everyone? Fortunately, Invy is here to help you out.

On the initial launch, you’ll be asked to set up a default email to use when sending out invites to people. It would be best to use an email that your friends and family would recognize. Once that’s set up, you’ll see the main screen of the app. If you need to change your information, you can do so with the gear button at the top. To create a new invite, just tap on the compose button in the top right corner.

Creating a new invite is quite easy. Just enter the name of the event, the location, and select your recipients. The app will utilize your address book information (emails only) to pull up contacts as you type, and you can just tap on a name to select it. Repeat this process for as many people as you wish to invite.

The final part for creating an invite is to select the dates. By default, it will select the current date and time, but you can change that, and even add more than one date if you wish. Why would you want to add more than one date? It will give the recipients more options, just in case they won’t be able to make a particular day.

When that is complete, just send out the invite. The recipients will get it in their email inbox or, if they have the Invy app installed as well, they will receive a push notification.

If the person does not have the Invy app, they can still respond to the invite via the Invy website. I find the ability to respond via a website to be a great benefit, since not everyone will have an iPhone or be willing to pay the $1.99 for the app.

When you receive an invite, just tap on the checkbox to confirm your availability. If you cannot participate, then just do nothing. Invy even has a messages section on each invite for participants to discuss the event with each other. Pretty nifty, right?

As you confirm a date, the event will automatically be added to your iPhone’s calendar. This is definitely a handy feature to have, and one of my favorites of the app itself.

All of your created (blue) and received (orange) invites will show up in the main screen of Invy. You’ll be able to see how many people have responded to the invite, and if an event is confirmed, it will be green. Simply swipe left-to-right on an item to edit (if you created it) or delete it from your list. This overview of your invites is great, because you no longer have to search through your inbox or various SMS threads — all your planned events and information will be right here, neatly organized.

The thing about Invy that caught my attention the most was the beauty of the app itself. Put simply, it is gorgeous. It’s also rather clean and elegant, which I love seeing in apps. It really adds to the overall user experience.

While this may be somewhat of a niche app, if you are always trying to arrange meetings with people, it’s a must-have. It does one thing, but it does it very well. It’s great for arranging get-togethers with old friends, family members, and even business meetings with co-workers.
