May 7, 2012
Offering insights on the popular game of soccer, the new Kick-Off for iPad app arrived recently in the App Store. Created by Leading Brands JLT, the e-book examines the history of football (soccer) from its beginnings in 2 B.C. China through its organization into the game we recognize and many love today. Kick-Off includes a number of unique features including vintage videos, including one called the oldest recorded clip of a game dating back to the early 20th century. In addition, the app includes clips of a young Pele announcing his talent in 1958, and the 1962 “Battle of Santiago” between Chile and Italy. In total, Kick-Off offers a fully immersive experience where readers can read, watch, and listen to content that brings the story of the world’s greatest game alive. Weighing in at just 6 MB, the app is actually much larger. The first time you run the app, it will download all the remaining content, which is 315 MB for the iPad, and 410 MB for the new iPad. The app will automatically determine which iPad you have. Specially priced until the end of May for $1.99, Kick-Off is available now in the App Store.
