Beautifully Done Shows Off Your Facebook Photos In A Whole New Way

May 9, 2012

Beautifully Done (Free) by ICON MOBI is a photo viewing app for your entire Facebook collection of images. See your pictures in a new way, and relive your memories all over again.

This app uses your Facebook images to create an auto-rotating collage of your memories. You can pick which album you want to display, what background you’d like and add filters to enhance the images.

To access your photos, simply connect to Facebook from inside the app. Then, all of your albums will appear and you can select which one you’d like to view. If you keep all of your pictures of your adorable nephew in one place, tap on that album and the collage will appear, showing five different images at once. The display is not stationary. Each image will flip to a different photo automatically, showing a new set of five pictures. They flip randomly and at separate times, showing an interesting moving collage of photos for your enjoyment. If you don’t want your images to move, simply turn off auto-rotate and you can flip through them manually.

In order to turn one of your albums into a moving collage, you must have at least 10 photos. The more you have in an album, the better the effects will be. Depending on how many images you have, it may take a while to download all of them to the app, but be patient. It seems to work every time.

The app is free to download and comes with a single background and the option to use the original images or add a black and white filter. For $0.99 you can unlock an additional 14 different backgrounds and add sepia and two-tone filters. You can also unlock the ability to view your display in portrait mode. The free app only lets you use it in landscape mode. Personally, I don’t think the $0.99 addition is necessary. The app works great as-is. If you want variety, it is only a buck more for the extra features, but it is a great app even without it.

If the developers want to add features that are really special, they should offer the ability to change where the pictures end up, or let users choose how many images get displayed at once. Maybe the app could let you adjust how fast the pictures flip. I’d pay extra for that.

This is a fantastic way to view your Facebook photos. You don’t have access to your friends images, only your own. However, this app displays them attractively so that you can show them off to others with your iPad. It is definitely worth downloading, but I don’t see a reason why the in-app purchase to unlock the addition features is particularly special. Pick it up today to see all of your Facebook photos with an app that was Beautifully Done.
