Manga Rock 2 Is The Go-To App For Thousands Of Titles, And It's Free
Manga Rock 2 ~ Best way to read manga (Free) by Not A Basement Studio is a manga reading app that gives users access to thousands of titles without having to pay for them. That’s right kids. You can read the entire collection of “Fruits Basket” for free with this app. To celebrate it’s launch, the developers are offering the full version, which lets you download more than one title at a time, for only $0.99.
This app offers a comprehensive collection of manga titles that are scanned and uploaded through MangaReader, MangaFox and MangaEden. There are more than 10,000 books to add to your reading collection.
The free app only allows users to download one title at a time for offline reading, but all titles can be read if the device is connected to Wi-Fi. For example, I downloaded all 29 issues of “High School of the Dead” to my iPad and can read them whether I am connected to the Internet or not. However, if I want to read an issue of “Soul Eater,” without downloading the series, I have to be connected to the Internet to access it. The full version allows users to download as many titles as they like for offline reading.
Users can find titles alphabetically by name or author, by searching for them or by seeing what is most popular in the manga-reading community. Issues that you’ve read will change color in the list so that you know you’ve already completed it. The latest titles will have a “New” indicator next to it so you can continue reading current titles.
Strangely, some of the most popular titles, like “Naruto,” “One Piece,” and “Death Note” are not available in this app, even though they can be accessed through MangaReader.net, MangaFox.me and MangaEden.com. I’m not sure why the developers decided to exclude these titles. That will be disappointing for a lot of manga fans.
Overall, this app has a comprehensive collection of manga titles. I was surprised at how many books are available, and all for free. Some titles even include their entire run of a series. The developers have offered a special launch price to allow users to unlock the full version, which lets you download as many titles as you like, for only $0.99. The regular price to unlock the full version is only $3.99, so even if you miss the sale, you can still read more than 10,000 manga books for less than half the price of a print copy.
