Hours After iOS 6.0 Beta Released, Jailbreak Emerges
June 12, 2012
That was quick. Just hours after Apple’s Scott Forstall officially unveiled iOS 6, someone has already jailbroken it, according to TechCrunch.
According to the report, MuscleNerd (of iPhone Dev Team fame) was able to jailbreak iOS 6 on a fourth-generation iPod touch used with the first beta release of Apple’s new mobile OS.
However, before anyone gets too excited, the jailbreak isn’t available to the public. In fact, it probably won’t be for a while.
Announced at yesterday’s WWDC keynote, iOS 6 is expected to be available to consumers in September or October, along with the next generation iPhone. Between now and then, Apple will most likely release as many as six iOS 6.0 betas for developers. We’ll keep you updated.
