In The Twilight Of Its Kickstarter Campaign, The Curse Of Shadow House Could Use A Few More Bites
June 10, 2012
The Curse of Shadow House -- a throwback point-and-click (or, more appropriately, hover-and-tap) adventure in the vein of classic hits like Shadowgate, The 7th Guest, and Maniac Mansion -- has just passed its funding goal on Kickstarter. While the title's story is standard fare, the meticulous artwork and moody musical score really make the game shine fade into the misty shadows. Here's the setup, from creator Eric Shofe:
You are a young woman, and you have been bitten by a vampire and find yourself in a strange house... You begin to find old pages from what appears to be a journal, scattered throughout the house. As you find the letters, a tragic story begins to unfold... Young Alexander Shadow has lost his Bride, Elizabeth Blackwell when she is caught in a random act of violence and is killed. Falling deeper into a depression, Alexander longs for death to be reunited with his lost love. Overcome with grief, Alexander reaches his breaking point and vows to end his own life. Tragically, on the eve of his suicide, he is bitten by a Vampire and cursed to immortality, doomed to never see his wife again in the afterlife.Everything looks (and sounds) plenty promising. However, even though the app's just managed to reach its $8,000 goal, things could still be better. So, if you'd like to see The Curse of Shadow House truly fulfill its potential, hurry up and add some more money to the pot. Every dollar counts! You've only got about 14 hours left to take a bite...
