Photo fx Version 5.0 Adds New Social Tools

One of the more feature-rich photo-editing apps for iOS recently received a substantial update. Photo fx for the iPhone/iPod touch and Photo fx Ultra for the iPad now offer sharing tools, and more.
Created by The Tiffen Company and first launched in October 2009, Photo fx and its iPad companion app offer a full set of photo-editing options for both professional and amateur photographers a like.
At last count, Photo fx includes 75 filters with 878 presets across eight different filter groups. Conversely, Photo fx Ultra, which arrived shortly after the first iPad was released in 2010, includes 77 filters, and 934 presets organized in eight different filter groups.
Version 5.0 offers new ways to share your photos. You can now choose from Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, the Sincerely Ship & Print service, as well as, email, print, copy, and open in.
In addition, Photo fx photos can now be imported into Tiffen Dfx v3, the latest version of the company’s line of Dfx applications for OS X and Windows.

Long a favorite of AppAdvice readers, Photo fx ($2.99) and Photo fx Ultra ($4.99) are available now in the App Store.
- Downsample More to Speed Up Interaction - The image is downsampled more during image editing to speed up interaction.
- Image Loading/Saving Feedback - A spinning cursor and text pops up during image loading and saving.
- EXIF Image data is retained.
