Challenges Aplenty In Golf KingDoms, Plus Win A Copy
Golf KingDoms ($1.99) by CODESPOT takes golf to the extreme. Forget water hazards. In this game you’ll need to avoid crevasses, slick ice, and lava.
I’ve seen some pretty intense miniature golf games that pale in comparison to how hardcore this game is. You know that you’re in for a challenge when you have a hole with a par of seven.
Gameplay works just like a standard “tanks” game: adjust your angle and slide your finger away from the ball to choose how much force to apply.
You’ll need to be careful because looks can be deceiving about how hard to hit the ball. Hitting the ball at the highest level is best saved when you’re trying to gain vertical ground or launch from one side of the hole to the other.
In the top left corner of the screen is the par, and the right side shows how many swings you’ve made.
It will take a few holes before you dial-in on how much force to apply. The opposite of hitting it too hard means nudging it a foot or two, which can be embarrassing if you were trying to make it go farther.
You can select the difficulty to be either easy or hard by choosing whether you want wind or not. The extreme holes are a challenge even without the wind.
The game currently has 27 holes, spread across three worlds: JungleLand, SnowLand, and LavaLand. A fourth world, DesertLand, will be available soon.
This game takes the standard convention of playing golf and inserts it into an extreme world full of challenges and peril.
