Play God And Colonize A New Planet In My Laboratory

My laboratory ($1.99) by weheartprojects.com is an element game that is similar to Doodle God and Doodle Devil. The goal is to combine elements to create new elements, eventually leading up to the creation of life in order to colonize a planet.

You start out with just earth, fire, air, and water. These four elements are combined to create new ones. For example, earth and water make mud, while air and water make clouds.

Throughout the game, you continue combining your newly created elements together, eventually forming the foundations for life. The game continues after that, and you will be able to create items like cars and birds.

The game even throws in fun Internet memes, allowing you to craft Nyancat and a double rainbow.

To mix elements, you will drag the components from the bottom of the screen to the mixing chamber at the top, where they will be automatically combined if they make a new element. If two elements do not combine, the screen will shake to let you know.

You can double tap on any element to see what went into creating it, and how many other items can be created with that particular element. To navigate through your element sets, you can swipe to the left and right.

There are a total of 200 elements to discover, so there’s quite a bit of combining to do. The game also has Game Center support with leaderboards and 19 achievements to earn.

My Laboratory is a simple game, based on a concept that’s quite a bit of fun. Unfortunately, it’s not an original idea, and it’s not even something that’s unique in the App Store. I see little difference between this game and the original Doodle God.

In fact, My Laboratory doesn’t have quite as many elements to discover, though it may be worth purchasing if you haven’t played another game of this type. It does have a great interface that makes it easy to combine elements, plus an appealing icon design.

I would recommend picking this one up if it goes on sale, because $1.99 is a high price tag for a game that’s both short and unoriginal. Still, I have high hopes for this one in the future. With additional gameplay and an update with even more combinations, this could turn out to be the best element game in the App Store.
