Z. Is An Incredibly Comprehensive Zombie Trading Card Game In The Making

June 20, 2012
When it comes to trading card games, most people are immediately intimidated by the complicated rules as well as an unfamiliar, new method of play. The team at Downward Viral believe that their game "Z." a Kickstarter project that has already reached $25,000 in funding, not only combines the best features of the trading card game genre, but also a very simple and intuitive method of play. Sebastian Haley, creative director of Downward Viral believes that Z. will be quite an accessible game because it's based on Zombies; most players know what to expect when it comes to Zombies. Head shots, chain saws, and of course, total mayhem. While not much of the gameplay was touched upon, there were a few features that were highlighted. Z. lets you choose whether you want to play as Zombies or Survivors. The game feature MMO-like equipment sets, card bonuses, and killstreaks as well as other RPG elements. The game contains actual live action scenes made possible with the Kickstarter funding, with real-life models and actors, just like the good old days on Sega and Playstation. Best of all Z. will be a cross platform turn based game, which means you can play against players on iOS, PC (no Steam at this time), Android, Mac, Facebook, and Linux. It doesn't end here, for those who decide to contribute to the project there is a lot of exciting Z. swag in store. Pledging the minimum $1 to $75 will get you different digital bundles of the game. This includes the game for other platforms and other downloadable content. People who pledge $1,000 to the max $10,000 will get access to an actual set of cards, producer credit, and the development team making you look like a real Zombie. They will even include letting you have a recurring character role in many of their live action scenes. You can follow the project on its Kickstarter page which is updated frequently.
