A Chance To Win Bridge Constructor For iPhone And iPad
July 17, 2012
AppAdvice has teamed up with Headup Games, our latest AppAdvice Daily podcast sponsor, in order to offer you a chance to win a copy of Bridge Constructor ($1.99) for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
Put on your engineering hat because it's time to design some bridges! Bridge Constructor is an extremely challenging puzzle game that has you trying to build bridges that are sturdy enough to withstand the daily stress of traffic without going over your limited budget.
At the beginning of each level you're presented with different types of supplies, like wood, steel, pillars, and cables, and a limited amount of cash. You will be charged for each item you place on the grid to bridge the gap, so you must figure out how best to combine them all. Not only that, your bridge must be able to bear the weight of the cars and trucks that will eventually pass over.
To build a bridge, you must first select an item from the drawer on the side of the screen. Then just tap and drag your finger from one point on the grid to another to place it. You can use the undo button to remove a just-placed item, or you can double-tap on any one item to remove it. Keep placing items until you think you have something that can at least hold its own weight. Then it's time to test!
The testing mode allows you to discover weak points in your structure. Your bridge will initially show up with green highlights, but as weight is added, it will begin to flex and turn red. If it holds up, you can send vehicles across it to attempt to pass the level. If it doesn't, it's back to the drawing board.
Bridge Constructor also includes five beautiful environments, 30 levels, local high scores, and the ability to share your scores and screenshots of your bridges via Facebook.
