Whether you’re new to iOS, or just want to pick up some useful tips and tricks, we're here to help. This is iOS Advice.
Reminders is a great app to help keep things organized throughout the day. Location based Reminders can help you, for example, remember to call someone or do the laundry when you get to a specific location.
The basics of creating a location based reminder can be found in the steps below, or you can watch the video for an in depth overview:
Step 1: In order to setup Reminders based on the location of your home, create yourself as a contact in the Phone app and include your address.
Step 2: Launch the Reminders app and tap on the plus sign in the top right corner. Next, type in the task requiring a reminder and press return.
Step 3: Open the reminder you’ve created and tap on "Remind Me," then turn on the “At a Location” switch.
Step 3: Choose either "When I Leave" or "When I Arrive," depending on when you want to reminder to happen.
Step 4: When you’re done with that, tap on "Current Location" and select “Choose Address.” Search through the Contacts list and tap on your name. Finally, press “Remind Me” in the top left corner, and Done in the top right corner on the next two screens.
You have now successfully setup a location based reminder. You’ll now be notified by Reminders when you've arrived at, or left, the specified location.
