Unsubscribe From Unnecessary Emails With Unlistr Pro App For iPhone
August 20, 2012
It seems that no matter how hard we try, we continue to receive promotional emails for websites we no longer visit. Now, a new iOS app has arrived that allows users to scan and bulk unsubscribe from junk email such as newsletters, advertisements, deals, social media, and other subscribed content. Say hello to Unlistr Pro, available in the App Store.
Recently updated, the $1.99 app connects to any POP3/IMAP account including those from iCloud, Hotmail, Live, Gmail, Yahoo, and more. Unlistr scans your account for emails you are most likely to delete, including retailer ads, advertisement listservs, and shopping website promotions.
Once the scan is complete, you select those lists you no longer wish to be subscribed to by checking them off. Next, Unlistr will automatically alert those companies that you are no longer interested in receiving mail from them. The app also highlights those lists that require manual unsubscribing, and assists you accordingly.
Best of all, Unlistr is entirely customizable.
As such, it will skip mailing lists that have already been blacklisted, and can scan up to 1,000 emails per scan. Better still, Unlistr installs as a local email client app on your iPhone. In other words, it doesn't use a third-party server or API to process your username, password, or email.
Other features include:
I’ve tested Unlistr with my Gmail and iCloud accounts and found it worked as expected. Not only has it helped me eliminate unnecessary emails, but I found the process quick and easy to setup. Unlistr Pro is available in the App Store. A free version is also available. However, this app is limited in what it can do.
