Where's Our Green Day Angry Birds App, Rovio?
August 20, 2012
Rovio Entertainment and the Grammy Award-winning band Green Day have teamed up to launch a new musical episode for Angry Birds Friends. Exclusively available through Facebook, the episode features 10 never-before-seen themed levels, as well as new pig characters inspired by the band.
First formed in 1987, Green Day consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstong, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool.
The collaboration includes access to the band’s latest single, “Oh Love,” and an exclusive song, “Troublemaker.” This fall, updates for the Green Day episode will include more exclusive content and levels.
According to Rovio’s Peter Vesterbacka:
Two amazing brands working together on a one-of-a-kind collaboration — we can’t wait for our fans to explore this new Green Day world.Take a look:
To experience Green Day with Angry Birds, be sure to visit the game's official Facebook site. Unfortunately, Rovio didn't announce whether this new theme would be included on any of their existing App Store games. First introduced in May, Angry Birds Friends launched on Facebook with two chapters from the original game, along with an exclusive “Surf and Turf” chapter.
