Quirky App Of The Day: ChameleonFeed Gives A New Look To Your Twitter Feed

September 5, 2012
I never used Twitter until I started working at AppAdvice. I only did it because my boss made me. After using it for about a year, it's finally grown on me over the past few weeks. Not only do I have some fun quips with my friends, but I also have a few irreverent people that I follow who provide some solid entertainment. ChameleonFeed brings a twist to how you view your Twitter feed. Even a reluctant user like me can appreciate it. ChameleonFeed turns your back camera on and displays live Twitter feeds on the screen over the video. You search for the feed or trend you want to look at by username or hashtags. You can also do a keyword search. I don't have a lot of friends that I follow. Other than the fact that it sounds rather pathetic and lonely, I'm glad that I don't have much clutter in my feed. But I do like to check in with the highlights every so often. With ChameleonFeed, I can type in the username of the people I'm most interested in, and I get a new tweet from their feed every 10 seconds. It doesn't go too far back. So, I'm not reading things from a year or two ago. I like to send funny tweets that I read to people who don't have a Twitter account. With ChameleonFeed, I can stylize the tweets that I send by putting something interesting or applicable in the background before I take a screenshot. The developers also made it easier to walk and tweet at the same time. I'm not coordinated enough to walk and type. Injuries and humiliation result every time I try it. ChameleonFeed is available in the App Store for $0.99.
