Whether you’re new to iOS, or just want to pick up some useful tips and tricks, we're here to help. This is iOS Advice.
Using iMessage is a great way to communicate with iOS devices. It’s a very convenient feature that we were first introduced to in iOS 5.
Since the release of iOS 6, if you have an iPhone, you now have the ability to send messages from other iOS devices using your phone number. This new feature is enabled by default if you’re using the same Apple ID across your other iOS devices.
Did you know that you can specify the address or number that's shown to the recipient when you send an iMessage? In addition to that, you can also set up specific addresses for each iOS device. This can be very helpful and prevent confusion if you’d rather not have the same address associated with each device. It’s also a great way to unify iMessage across all of your iOS devices depending on your preference.
If you’d like to change your iMessage caller ID, watch the video or follow the steps below:

Step 1: Launch the Settings app on your device.
Step 2: Next, scroll down to Messages and tap on it.
Step 3: Next, tap on the row labeled “Send & Receive.” The next screen will allow you to set your iMessage addresses. Now, select the addresses or numbers you’d like to use with iMessage. You can also add a new email address to the list by tapping on “Add Another Email.” If you’re using an iPhone, this won’t affect standard SMS, it will only apply to iMessages.
If you’ve selected multiple iMessage addresses, you’ll now have a new option at the bottom of the screen. Below “Start new conversations from,” you’ll have the ability to set which address is used by default when you send a new iMessage.
