Google Maps Set To Return To iOS As Early As Tonight

December 13, 2012
AllThingsD is reporting exclusively that Google will be releasing their own Maps app into the App Store as early as tonight. They state:
The app should be a welcome addition for many iPhone users, who have been unhappy with an Apple-made replacement.
Originally the backbone for Apple's native Maps app in iOS, Google Maps was eliminated from Apple devices with iOS 6. Since then, however, customers have complained loudly that the new program was lacking key features. Soon after the software was released, in fact, Apple CEO Tim Cook publicly apologized for his company's "frustrating" Maps app. In September, Cook fired long-time iOS head Scott Forstall. His ouster was largely due to the iOS 6 Maps fiasco. This is a breaking story. We'll update this post as events warrant it.
