Olloclip Three-In-One Photo Lens Launches For iPhone 5, Made In USA

One of the most popular iOS camera accessories is now available for the iPhone 5. The Olloclip offers a three-in-one lens solution that including fisheye, wide-angle, and macro.
Available in white, red, and black, the Olloclip remains simple to use as it attaches to Apple’s latest handset. Just slide it onto the corner of your iPhone to get started. On one side is the fisheye lens, while the other holds the dual wide-angle and macro lenses.
I’ve been testing the Olloclip on my 32GB iPhone 5, and overall, I found it to be an enjoyable experience. In particular, I’m impressed with the subtle changes the wide-angle lens brings to my photos. The two other lenses are also good, although I have never been much into the fisheye look.
The hardware itself is well made and stylish. As such, it will probably turn a few heads. And true “iphoneographers” will love it.
I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the Olloclip is made in the United States. This is a rare occurrence for sure, but perhaps a growing trend. The new iMac is “Assembled in USA.”
Two of the biggest complaints about previous versions of the Olloclip extend to the new version: price and the required nakedness.
The Olloclip is $69.99, which is probably too steep a price for some casual photographers. I’m not saying that it isn’t worth it, because it is. However, that price may be hard to justify given that the least expensive iPhone 5 is $199.
Olloclip only works without a case attached to the handset. This fact is unavoidable given that each iPhone case is different. However, it does make taking photos in public places much more difficult, as you must struggle first to take off the case and then to attach the lens of your choice.
One final note: Be sure you buy an Olloclip from an authorized reseller. Better yet, purchase one through the company’s official site.

Overall, Olloclip for the iPhone 5 remains a great product and does exactly what its creators have promised. Each comes with the three lenses, including caps, and a Microfiber bag. An Olloclip for the iPhone 4/4S is also available.
