CES 2013: The xPrintServer Makes iDevice Printing Simple
January 9, 2013
With the xPrintServer family at CES 2013, printing from your iDevice has never been easier. Lantronix has announced the brand new xPrintServer - Office Edition model that will be joining the xPrintServer - Home Edition. Both of these devices make printing an effortless task, but the Office Edition is for business and IT professionals, while Home is for small business and consumers.
After the holiday season, many people may have received brand new iPhones or iPads. But what if they require printing out documents (boarding passes, movie, event or concert tickets, photos, text, spreadsheets, and much more) from their new iPhone or iPad, and don’t have another computer, or AirPrint enabled printer in the household? Fret no more, because Lantronix has come up with a great solution.
With the xPrintServer family, the hardware is made to be easily integrated with all of your iDevices. It features automatic printer discovery and there is really no configuration needed. You only need to plug in the xPrintServer to a power source and Ethernet, and then you are able to print immediately from the native iOS menu.
For those who already have other printers, xPrintServer has a nifty feature called “AirPrint&Trade” that allows it to send the printing job to any other networked or USB printer (wired or wireless) in the area. It is compatible with over 4,000 top-brand USB, network, wired, and wireless printers as well, so chances are that what you have will work with xPrintServer too.
If you’re interested in getting your own xPrintServer, you can find them on Lantronix’s web site, with the Office Edition being $199.95 MSRP, and the Home Edition only costing $99.95 MSRP.
