Twitter Launches Vine Video-Sharing Service For iPhone

January 24, 2013
Twitter has launched Vine, a new iPhone app that allows users to record six second looping video clips and share them with the world. Vine Labs, Inc. was purchased by Twitter in 2012. For the time being, the social network plans on keeping Twitter and Vine separate entities. As a result, Vine users aren’t tied to the Twitter ecosystem. Instead, they may share videos via Vine, Twitter, and Facebook. More services are expected to be added soon. Full features include:
  • Unlimited uploads and free
  • Instantly post videos on Vine, then share to Twitter and Facebook (more coming soon!)
  • Find, follow, and interact with people close to you
  • Explore trending posts, featured hashtags and editor's picks
The free Vine app is available in the App Store.
