Macworld/iWorld 2013: Strotter’s Platforma Messenger Bag Morphs Into A Portable Desk

The Strotter Platforma messenger bag is a handy vertical bag that’s designed to carry your iPad 2, 3, or 4. It’s incredibly versatile, fulfilling a wide variety of functions.
It works as a cross body messenger bag, but you can also wear it as a backpack, and it even functions as a portable desk.
AppAdvice’s Dom Esposito was on hand at Macworld/iWorld to get a hands on demonstration of the Platforma. Check it out below, and click here if you can’t see the link.

As you can see, the Platforma can be propped up across your shoulder to serve as a desk, even when standing up. Sure, it looks silly, but hey, that hands free iPad action means you can hold your latte and browse the Web at the same time.
Don’t worry about your iPad slipping - it attaches to the back wall of the bag using a snap-on polycarbonate case with four magnets.
The Platforma is made from full grain leather with a red nylon shell, and it is equipped with a whole slew of pockets. There are two quick access diagonal pockets across the front, two front wall pockets with waterproof zippers, an open pocket for a tablet, and a magazine pocket in the back.
Pockets don’t come cheap, though. The Platforma will cost you a whopping $169 with the magnetic iPad holder, or $154 without. You can get it from the Strotter website.
