As It Celebrates A Birthday, Pocket Offers New Sharing Tools For iOS And Mac Users

One year ago, Read It Later became Pocket. To celebrate this anniversary, the folks at Pocket are releasing a new iOS and Mac update. The latest version of Pocket includes a completely redesigned Share Menu, and a new feature, Send to Friend. As the name suggests, this feature makes it easier to send content to people who matter to you the most. With just a few taps, you can share content from Pocket with friends and family, along with a comment and a highlighted quote. They’ll receive an email with the link. However, if they too are a Pocket user, they’ll also be notified within the app. When friends send content to you, it will appear in an inbox. It is here where you can see their comments along with any highlighted text. The redesigned Share Menu highlights your most recently used services, including Twitter, Facebook, Evernote, or Buffer. And once you’ve shared to friends with Send to Friend, you’ll find shortcuts to share content with recent friends from this menus. Finally, Pocket users can now choose to receive a push notification whenever a friend shares with them. This notification service is optional, and works across multiple platforms.
