Cydia Tweak: Atom Is A Lock Screen Launcher With Style And Functionality

April 19, 2013
There’s an upcoming Cydia tweak that will add a lot of functionality to the lock screen. Atom is a beautiful lock screen launcher created by Tyler Nettleton with help from Surenix. This tweak will transform your lock screen and add quick access to six apps. Once installed, you’ll be able to specify the custom apps within Atom’s settings. This tweak may be simple, but in my opinion, that’s the best part about it. With Atom, you'll have quick access to your favorite apps with a new lock screen layout and sleek animations. If you need to unlock your device, tap and hold on the black button to reveal Atom's layout, then slide it up to the lock in the middle of the screen and release. Alternatively, you can slide the button to any of the icons to quickly launch one of the apps. Check out our video overview below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BfPFg0huEw

As you can see in the video above, Atom’s animations are very smooth and the icon layout is beautiful. If you have a passcode set, you’ll be prompted to enter it before unlocking or launching any app. In the Settings app, you’ll find options to specify an app for all six positions on the lock screen. All you have to do is tap on an icon position in Atom’s settings and select an app from the list. Atom will be released this weekend in Cydia’s BigBoss repository for $1.99. It’s also important to note that Atom is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5 or higher. Check out our video preview above and let us know what you think in the comments section.
