If you have a passcode set up on your iPhone, iOS gives you the ability to make an emergency call from the lock screen. This will only work with official emergency numbers, but a recently released Cydia tweak helps expand this lock screen feature. Exigency is a new tweak that will give you the option to call any of your contacts from a passcode protected lock screen. This can be useful if you need to quickly call someone without fully unlocking your device. Exigency does take away some of the security you'll get by using a passcode, but your device will only be able to call a contact using this feature. Check out our video overview below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9C2VUZIEsw
If you can’t see the above video, please click this link.As you can see in the video above, Exigency doesn’t expose any other information on your device. If needed, only a call can be placed from Exigency’s lock screen options. Other people won’t have the ability to send messages or access any information on your iPhone. The only downside to this tweak is that it does expose all the phone numbers on your device. In my opinion, it would be nice to see an option that would allow you to specify a contact or a group of contacts to be shown in the emergency call section. Even just having the ability to only list your favorites in this area would be nice. This way, if you needed to use Exigency in a crucial moment, all of the people you care about would only be a couple of taps away. It's important to note that this tweak is only compatible with iPhone running iOS 6 or higher. Currently, Exigency is available in the ModMyi repository for free.
