Vonage Mobile Now Includes Free Video Calling

April 18, 2013
Vonage is getting into the video calling business. Using Vonage Mobile for the iPhone, users can now make and receive free video calls over Wi-Fi, and 3G/4G. During a video call, users can choose either their front-facing or back-facing camera, switch to voice-only calling and back to video, mute the call, and turn on/off Bluetooth. This service is free when both the caller and receiver are using the Vonage Mobile app. When calling someone without the app, Vonage Mobile users are charged at rates starting at $0.01 per minute. Credits may be purchased via an in-app purchase. Video calling is supported on the iPhone 4 and later, and requires iOS 5 or higher. With Vonage Mobile, users can make free calls to U.S., Canadian, and Puerto Rican phone numbers, up to 3,000 minutes per month. The free Vonage Mobile app is available in the App Store.
