Apple's 3-D Flyover Maps Feature Says Bonjour To Paris, France
May 9, 2013
The number of 3-D flyover maps in Apple’s iOS 6 Maps app continues to grow. The latest addition means that you can now fly over the Eiffel Tower, tour the Louvre Museum, and walk along the River Seine without ever leaving your home. Indeed, the city of Paris is here, according to Igen.fr.
The addition doesn’t include just Paris, but also extends to Versailles, Aulnay-sous-Bois, Paris Disneyland, and L’Hay-les-Roses. Prior to this launch, Lyon was the only French city that boasted flyover support.
Since iOS 6 Maps launched in 2012, Apple has been steadily adding new cities with 3-D flyover support. In March, Cupertino added support for 16 additional locations. These included Cologne, Germany, Vancouver, British Columbia, among others.
Be sure to take a look at the Paris flyover. It is absolutely gorgeous on both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad.
