Popular Instacast Podcaster App Jumps To Mac As A Public Beta
May 1, 2013
The popular podcaster app for iOS, Instacast, is now available for Mac. The free application by Vemedio is now available in public beta format.
First released for iOS in December, Instacast has fast become a suitable alternative to Apple’s own Podcasts app because of its many features. These include the ability to add subscriptions, show notes, create playlists, among many others.
Instacast for Mac includes these features, and many more such as background processing, search, and an Up Next playlist tool similar to the one found in the latest version of iTunes. There is also support for headset remotes, and AirPlay streaming. Another feature is something called File Reflector that pushes downloaded files to your iOS device.
The Mac beta is free. However, the folks at Vemedio are already offering “early bird pricing” packages for when the application leaves beta. These are priced at $14.99 for a single user license, and $19.99 for a family pack. These are available by going to Instacast > Purchase Instacast within the application.
Please note: As with most betas, not all of the eventual features of Instacast for Mac are currently available.
The Instacast For Mac beta is available to download here. The $4.99 universal Instacast 3 app for iOS is available in the App Store.
