The Loop's Jim Dalrymple Launches New Magazine In Apple's Newsstand

May 9, 2013
When Jim Dalrymple says something about Apple, or shoots down the latest rumor, you can be sure the guy knows what he’s talking about. Now The Loop founder is starting a new endeavor. The Loop Magazine is now available in Apple’s Newsstand. Called an “extension of my interests on The Loop,” Dalrymple’s magazine covers technology, music, and design. Better still, the publication doesn’t look to regurgitate the always-changing news of the day. Rather, it seeks to take a long view on various topics big, and small. As Dalyrymple contends in a forward to the magazine:
I wanted something more than a side-scrolling news app that basically imitated what I’d already linked to or written on the Web site.
The first issue of The Loop Magazine includes features on “the profound power of the Internet in your pocket,” and “Mac gaming’s sad balkanization,” among others. Published twice per month, The Loop Magazine includes a free seven-day trial for new users. From there, it costs $1.99 per month. Subscriptions are available via an in-app purchase. The Loop Magazine looks promising and I can’t wait to see what type of stories Dalrymple cooks up in the coming months. The free app is available for download here. It is available for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad.
