Finally: Apps Will Automatically Update In iOS 7

June 10, 2013
At WWDC, Apple announced minor changes to the AppStore, and one big improvement in app management. Apps will now automatically update, making AppStore notifications a thing of the past. As of now, it's unclear whether there are any customization options for this feature (such as only on Wi-Fi or only at certain times) or whether you can turn it off. The AppStore's appearance seems largely unchanged, except for the addition of two new categories. Parents should be pleased to see the AppStore can now display apps for specific age ranges. The "Popular Near Me" category uses location services to show you apps people nearby have downloaded. The feature seems designed for on the go use, such as finding apps for a museum tour.
