New iOS 7 Beta Glitch Lets You Put Apps Inside Of Newsstand

June 28, 2013
There’s no denying that iOS 7 is full of bugs and glitches. Normally, we don’t report every little bug that we come across, but this next one is pretty interesting. We’ve recently discovered that iOS 7 beta 2 allows you to put apps inside of Newsstand. This may not be a big deal to a lot of people, but we found it to be a fun little glitch and wanted to share it with you. Of course, there’s a good possibility this will be patched in a future beta release, but if you’re running iOS 7 beta 2, you may want to give this a try. Check out our video overview for a visual tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_meC9ahQmPc

If you’d like to put apps inside of Newsstand, here’s a short set of instructions: First, put your apps into wiggle mode. Next, drag an app on top of Newsstand and slightly wiggle it or hold it there until you see Newsstand blink. Newsstand’s natural instinct is to make a folder, but if you hold it there long enough, it will open and you’ll be able to place the app inside. Looking for another cool trick? Once you’ve placed apps inside of Newsstand, you can use Rag3Hack or PassHack to hide Newsstand and all of the apps inside of it. The best part is, all of those hidden apps are still accessible via Spotlight search. If you’d like to remove the apps from Newsstand, reboot your device and everything will be kicked out of Newsstand and placed back on your home screen. Currently, this method works on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 7 beta 2. UPDATE: A commenter, Pim, pointed out another way to get the apps out of Newsstand, and individually too. If you press on an app, and hold it, then press the home button right away you can pop the app out of Newsstand by continuing to drag it out like from a normal folder. This has to be done quickly, though; don't press and release, just press it quickly, holding it down, and, before it goes into wiggle mode, press home button immediately (don't even wait a full second). Then you can move the app with your finger and drag it back out of Newsstand. Like I said, this isn’t the biggest glitch, but it’s certainly a notable one.
