It's Time To Take A Ride On Ferris, A New Video Sharing App For iPhone
July 30, 2013
A new mobile video app has launched in the App Store. Ferris allows users to discover, explore, and contribute to the people, places, and topics they care about the most.
Available for free, the iPhone app includes a number of features that make it unique. One of these is the ability to contribute to a video story. Rather than sitting isolated in a vertical news feed, videos become an integral part of a live, ever-evolving canvas. A time-lapse feature then makes it possible to browse a video forward and backwards using a simple swipe-and-tap gesture.
Other features include:
According to Paul Boukadakis, CEO and cofounder of Ferris:
- Innovative user interface that automatically stitches together related videos, updating constantly
- Timelapse browsing feature for experiencing multiple views at once
- Full landscape-mode video recording
- Ability to record videos within the mobile interface and share clips publicly up to two minutes in length
- Multiple ways to search and enjoy video streams including user, hashtag, location, date and time, and category
- Explore tab for discovering new videos and trending topics
There are too many missed moments in life, and we’re determined to change the experience of reliving and sharing these moments in a dynamic, fun way. Ferris provides a video timeline of your life and the lives of those around you. The sum really is greater than the individual parts. We're still playing around with Ferris and hope to offer a review soon. In the meantime, you can download the app here. [gallery]
