Got A Google Chromecast? There Is Now An iOS App For That

August 27, 2013
Google has finally released a dedicated iOS app for Chromecast. The free app is available now for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. For now, the Chromecast app has limited use, like the video streaming device itself. With it, users can set up a Chromecast to work with a Wi-Fi network, plus manage Chromecast settings. These include changing the device’s name, Wi-Fi password, and time zone. The universal app also lists the apps that work with the device. So far, on iOS anyway, that list is limited to YouTube, and Netflix. Google launched Chromecast in July to mostly good reviews. However, until now the $35 device was noted for not having an iOS app. Today's release changes this. The Chromecast app is available to download here.
