Netflix Adds A New 'My List' Feature To Make Finding Streaming Video Content Easier
August 21, 2013
Netflix is rolling out a new service to its streaming video customers. “My List” is being described as a better way to find and watch streaming video content. It’s launching worldwide in the next two weeks.
To add titles to My List, simply click the “Add To My List” button when viewing the details of a title on Netflix. The list shows up as a row on your main Netflix screen. It can also be viewed in a gallery view.
Once a few titles are added to My List, Netflix gets to work and sorts the list using an algorithm.
The streaming video site notes that “In our tests, most members really appreciated this automated sorting and it was much more useful than the manual sorting capability of the Instant Queue. “
Users can also reorder the list based on their needs.
Besides the My List feature, Netflix is also adding more details to each title in its online library.
These include special tags that note when new television seasons are available, and information on when a video will no longer be available through the service. This expanded content is currently only available on the Netflix website, but will be rolled out to more devices in the coming months.
Netflix's My List changes should be available in the coming days across multiple platforms, including iOS.
