New Video Proves That iOS 7 Could Have Been Designed In Microsoft Word

October 22, 2013
While the title of this article isn’t entirely true, there’s a new video that may have you questioning Apple’s graphic designers. Vaclav Krejci’s new video (via iMore) shows just how easy it is to reproduce iOS 7’s UI in Microsoft Word. That’s right, Microsoft Word. I know it seems crazy, but Krejci does a very good job mimicking iOS 7. The video is about 10 minutes long, but in my opinion, it’s definitely worth watching the entire thing. Check out the video below:

It’s pretty amazing, right? I’d consider myself a pretty good Photoshop artist, but I’d never imagine something like this was possible in Microsoft Word. Then again, I don’t consider myself an expert in Microsoft Word design. The point of the story is that iOS 7’s design is almost too simple. I’m not saying that it’s necessarily a bad design, but when most of your UI elements and icons can be reproduced in Microsoft Word or Paint, you have to wonder what Apple’s designers call professional.
