More Retailers Are Now Matching Walmart's Discount On The Entry Level iPad Air
November 1, 2013
Apple, Best Buy, and Staples are now matching Walmart’s slight discount for the entry-level iPad Air. At least for today, Nov. 1, the 16GB model may be purchased for $479, instead of $499, at all four retailers in the United States.
Announced earlier this week, the Walmart discount does not extend to the 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB models of Apple’s fifth-generation tablet. In addition, it doesn't extend to online orders, depending on the retailer.
Staples and Walmart, for example, are honoring the $20 discount at retail stores and online. The same cannot be said for Apple and Best Buy, which are only accepting the discount in person. To save the $20, you are advised to show proof of the lower price.
The iPad Air officially launched today in 40 countries, including the U.S., Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China (Wi-Fi models only), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao (Wi-Fi models only), Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
In the U.S., Apple is currently promising a Nov. 4 delivery date on all iPad Air orders received through the company's online store. Were this to change, we'll let you know.
