A New OS X 11 Concept Visualizes Apple's iOS On A Mac
December 13, 2013
Apple has pushed a number of iOS features onto Macs in recent years, including Maps, Reminders, and iBooks. One thing that hasn’t made the jump from mobile is the minimalistic design that is the cornerstone of iOS 7.
So what would iOS 7 look like on a Mac?
Andrew Ambrosino has the answer. The designer recently unveiled a concept version of OS X 11 inspired by iOS 7. It “includes some good flatness, translucent blurs, and overall streamlining.”
His OS X Mail concept removes the drab heavy grays of the current version. It also includes more white space, which could make reading email much easier.
I also like that Ambrosino has moved the iOS 7 Notification Center to Mac. Personally, I would love to see this incorporated into the Mac login screen. That way, users could view their schedule for the day even before entering their credentials.
OS X 11 is likely to be unveiled next June at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. As usual, we’ll be there.
