Japanese Apple fans may have a chance to get a huge discount on merchandise very soon. According to MacRumors, Apple is once again participating in a Lucky Bag sale starting on Jan. 2, 2014. Many Japanese retailers offer a Fukubukuro, or a "mystery bag," that offers many highly discounted and surprising products in one bag for a low price.
The Lucky Bags from Apple will cost 36,000 yen ($345) and will be very limited in quantity. It's not unusual to see people in Japan lined up to get their hands on one of these bags. The grab bags usually contain small gifts like iPods and are bundled with other accessories like headphones that definitely make it a worthy deal, but a few lucky shoppers get way more than that.
There are usually a few Lucky Bags that contain either an iPad or a MacBook Air, but who knows what Apple will decide to surprise shoppers with next month. Either way, the Lucky Bags from Apple are always an excellent deal and have grown in popularity over the years. Of course, Apple isn't the only retailer to offer this kind of deal, but the high dollar items found in a few bags, make Apple's sale a great one.
