How To Fix Most iOS 7 Jailbreak Tweak Issues

December 30, 2013
If you've recently jailbroken an iOS 7 device, it's possible that you've ran into a few problems. Mobile Substrate hasn't been updated with iOS 7 compatibility, and because of this, you may have issues. Luckily, for those on an iPhone 5/5c or lower, there's a simple fix. Unfortunately, this fix won't work with any of Apple's latest A7 devices, but once Mobile Substrate has been updated, all compatible tweaks should work with any iOS device. If you're using a compatible device, we've put together a quick video tutorial that may help you get those iOS 7 tweaks up and running again.

If you can't see the above video, please click this link.

As shown in the video, the main goal here is to reinstall Mobile Substrate via Cydia. It may not be necessary to reinstall Substrate Safe Mode, but to be on the safe side, we recommend tackling both of the in one shot. After reinstalling both of those items, you'll be prompted to respring the device. Once your device is back on the lock screen, you'll be able to unlock it and all of the tweaks that you've installed should be restored and functional. As I mentioned above, this won't be necessary once Mobile Substrate is updated for iOS 7 devices, but until then you'll need to do this each time you reboot the device. Alternatively, there's a tweak called Bootstrap that has proven to fix this issue even after a reboot. You can find Bootstrap in the CydiaHacks repository by adding http://repo.cydiahacks.com to your Cydia sources. Let us know if this fix worked for you. Update: Mobile Substrate has been updated to work with iOS 7 and Apple's 64-bit devices. Please watch the video below for information on updating Mobile Substrate.
