The Slice Shopping Companion App Is Now Available On iPad

December 17, 2013
Slice, the popular shopping companion service, is now available on iPad. The free (and now universal) Slice app displays a users’ online purchases in a visual and easy-to-browse format. It also sends timely push notifications about crucial purchase information including delivery updates, price adjustments, and product recalls. First launched for iPhone in 2011, Slice syncs with a user’s inbox to make use of the information buried within electronic receipts and shipping confirmations. For the iPad, Slice includes:
  • Package tracking and shipping notifications: Slice automatically tracks shipments and keeps  users updated on delivery status. The shipments section within the app tracks each package in real-time and pinpoints its location, providing easy access to tracking number, carrier, estimated delivery time and a description of its contents.
  • Price Drop Alerts: Slice monitors price adjustments for recently purchased items and notifies users when they are eligible for a partial refund.
  • Recall Alerts: Slice integrates with the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s API to match  users’ purchases with recalled products. In the case of a match, Slice sends a push notification that links directly to the CPSC.gov recall page with details about the hazards and next steps.
According to Scott Brady, CEO of Slice:
We want to make it as easy as possible for consumers to get the information that matters about their purchases, especially during this incredibly busy shopping season. We’re delivering on that goal by bringing our service to all of the devices people use to browse and shop.
Slice is available to download in the App Store.
