Tired Of Google's Official App? Take The Free Youtopia For YouTube App For A Spin

January 3, 2014
Youtopia for YouTube is the latest project from Lifelike Apps, Inc. The free app is available now for the iPhone/iPod touch. Described as a “perfect way to discover and enjoy great new videos,” Youtopia for YouTube has the number of features not seen on Google's official YouTube app. One of these is the ability to browse videos while watching a video in full screen mode. Other features include:
  • Flat single-screen navigation enables easy/fast access to your favorite features with a single tap
  • Gorgeous iOS 7 style interface
  • View Youtube curated channels or sign-in with your YouTube account to access all of your Subscriptions, Playlists etc.
  • Easily subscribe to new channels or add videos to your Favorites and Watch Later list.
  • Filter searches your way with the intuitive iOS 7 style menu
  • Video ratings and number of views are displayed on each video while browsing
  • Easily share videos using the standard iOS 7 sharing interface
According to Lifelike App’s Dotan Saguy, Youtopia will remain free without ads “for the foreseeable future.” To AppAdvice, he notes “Our only goal for now is to grow the user base before thinking about monetizing in any way. So there’s no catch at all.” A future app update is likely to bring the ability to cache videos for offline viewing. Saguy says the feature is expected to roll out "in a few weeks." Youtopia for YouTube is available now in the App Store. [gallery columns="4"]
