Today’s Apps Gone Free: Spendee, Pillowcapers, Busy And More

Basically like every other work week, we’re ending this one with a bunch of great children’s apps to choose from like Pillowcapers and Yummiloo Rainbow Power. Of course, we also have some apps for other age groups like a gorgeous finance app and an easy to use productivity app. Happy Friday!

iPhone:

Busy - Stop Procrastinating, Get Busy. ($0.99 → Free, 3.5 MB): Stop letting procrastination win and start getting busy with this slick productivity app.

Whenever a new task comes to mind, just tap on an open field in your list. You can then assign it to a category and project list. You're able to reorder tasks by tapping and dragging them into place. You can also move them between project lists if necessary. Daily reminders can be set up to ensure you start your most important task. Spendee – see where your money goes ($1.99 → Free, 13.5 MB): See where all of your money is going with this gorgeous finance app.

The intuitive interface allows you to quickly add to or subtract from your total. Simply define an amount, choose a category, attach a note or photo, and your total will be updated automatically. You’re also able to set up recurring income to save a little extra time. The main feed will display all of your history and achievements while the overview screen allows you to see your finances in graphic form. The app also includes password protection, iCloud support, reminders, and the ability to edit and reorder categories. Spendee – see where your money goes is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 264 ratings.

TinyMons Match ($0.99 → Free, 4.2 MB): This cute matching game is loaded with TinyMons to uncover.

The game includes three difficulty levels, each with different amounts of pairs to create. Your child must match the TinyMons as quickly as possible to earn a high score. If they find multiple matches in a row they will receive bonus points. The app also includes a total of 1,700 random card motives, and three modes. TinyMons Match is available for free today only (01/10). It has a 5-star rating with a total of 5 ratings. Universal:

Yummiloo Rainbow Power ($1.99 → Free, 400.6 MB): This charming educational app makes playing with your food an acceptable practice.

The Yum Yums' Rainbow Machine is out of fuel, and they're in danger of missing out on the big carnival in Yummiloo. Your child must help them power up the Rainbow Machine by harvesting fruits and vegetables. The app teaches your child the basics of food identification and nutritional curriculum through engaging activities. The game includes multiple modes in order to cover a wide age range, snack attack mini-games, original music, and adorable characters. Yummiloo Rainbow Power is available for free today only (01/10). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 59 ratings.

Word Wizard - Talking Movable Alphabet & Spelling Tests for Kids ($2.99 → Free, 301.2 MB): Your child can learn to spell new words and hear the sounds the letters make with this educational app.

They’re able work freely on their own making new words or they can take word quizzes. Both modes feature an easy to navigate movable alphabet. They’re able to simply drag letters onto the grid to hear them pronounced. The app includes 184 word lists, the ability to create your own word lists, support for multiple profiles, and customizable letter sizes and voice speeds. 10 ($1.99 → Free, 12.5 MB): A puzzle game that’s all about making 10s.

Numbers are scattered about the grid. You must slide them together to add them up to 10. You must not exceed 10, and you must use all of the number tiles to complete each level. Other factors are introduced as you progress through the game, like blocked out grid pieces and number tiles that subtract from your total, making it rather difficult to complete all 300 levels. Hopefully you’re up for the challenge! 10 is available for free today only (01/10). It has a 5-star rating with a total of 75 ratings.

Word Wheel: Short Vowels ($1.99 → Free, 19.9 MB): An educational app that guides children in learning phonics, short vowels, and consonants.

They’re able to pick a vowel to work on or just spin the wheel and view all of the words. Each word they create can be pronounced with a tap. There’s also a quiz mode that presents your child with an object and they must spin the wheel to identify it. The app includes 170 words with over 30 vowel combinations, customizable quiz length, progress tracking, and fun drawing activities after each quiz. Pillowcapers: A Sleepy Adventure ($2.99 → Free, 312.1 MB): A bedtime story that has your little ones joining Sam on his big adventure in a magical sleepy world.

Sam has discovered a magical sleepy world that has been unlocked by his pillowcase. He gets to become a part of the elite Society of Heroes, Heroines, and Haberdashers and use his powers to quiet the small town of Tidy Corners. The app includes professional narration with highlighted text, or you child can enjoy the story all on their own. It also includes loads of interactive items, and original music and sound design. Pillowcapers: A Sleepy Adventure is available for free today only (01/10). It has a 5-star rating with a total of 25 ratings.
