A Mobile Guide To NBC's 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'
February 17, 2014
“The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” debuts at midnight EST. When it does, it will be the first time since 1972 that the late-night staple originates from New York City.
Are you excited that Jimmy Fallon is replacing Jay Leno as “The Tonight Show” host? Still bummed with what happened to Conan O’Brien? Is Johnny Carson still your favorite late-night host? Don't especially like "The Tonight Show," no matter the host?
Enjoy this mobile guide to "The Tonight Show."
The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Free, Universal app
Launched on Feb. 12, this official companion app features Jimmy’s Video Challenge, Jimmy’s Arcade, and plenty of Twitter integration. It also includes a listing of Fallon’s upcoming guests.
What you probably won’t find here are episodes of “The Tonight Show.” For these, you'll need the official NBC app.
Johnny Carson: Tonight Show, Vol. 1 & 2, $29.99, TV Show
This set includes 16 of the most popular episodes of the Johnny Carson era. Included, of course, is Carson’s final broadcast, plus “best of” compilations from the 1960s through the 1990s. A $9.99 set is also available, which includes eight episodes. Both sets were originally launched on DVD.
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno: Favorite Comedy Bits, $1.99 per episode, TV Show
The former host isn’t shown much love in iTunes. This set, which includes 21 clips (not full episodes), was published in 2006.
Conan O’Brien Presents: Team Coco, Free, Universal app
O’Brien only hosted “The Tonight Show” 146 times before he was given the axe. Luckily, his current late-night show on TBS is well represented in this official app. Included are full episodes, clips, and more.
Jimmy Kimmel Live -- The Official JKL App, Free, Universal App
Not too crazy about Fallon? The other Jimmy in late-night also has an app. Jimmy Kimmel Live - The Official JKL App features show segments, musical performances, and more. For full episodes, you'll need the Watch ABC app.
Please note: Most of these apps and TV shows are only available in the United States.
