Cydia Tweak: PassDial Uses iOS 7's Passcode Keypad To Make Calls

February 17, 2014
If you're looking for the ultimate iPhone speed dial tweak, PassDial may have you covered. PassDial is a new Cydia tweak that will allow you to use passcode combinations from the lock screen to make calls to specific contacts. It may be a simple idea, but making calls from the lock screen doesn't get any easier than this. Once installed, head over to the Settings app to configure PassDial. Keep in mind, there is a free version and a paid version of this tweak. For now, we're taking a look at the options available with the free version of PassDial. You'll have the ability to configure three different numbers and passcodes to use with the tweak. First, enter a number, then a passcode to use as a speed dial for that number. After your phone numbers and passcodes are configured, you can back out to the lock screen and test it out. In my experience, PassDial worked great. As soon as I entered a passcode associated with a number that was specified in the preferences, the call was initiated. It's really that simple. PassDial is a very convenient tweak. Now you won't have to unlock you device or use Siri to make a call from the lock screen. Like I mentioned, PassDial is available free of charge in the BigBoss repository. If you'd like more than three numbers, you'll need to purchase PassDial Pro for $2.00.
