Walmart Drops The Price On The iPad 2, Adds Incentives For Phone Upgrades

Are you looking for a fancy new iPad that just so happens to have a nice coat of dust on the box? You’re in luck. Walmart has sliced $100 off the price of the iPad 2, that wonderful piece of hardware that offers 3-year-old technology, yet Apple still sells at full price.
Walmart is now selling the 16GB iPad 2 for $299. The $100 discount comes in the form of an electronic $100 Walmart gift card, which can be used in stores or at walmart.com.
(Our advice: Skip the iPad 2, and get a first-generation iPad mini for the same price.)
The largest retailer in the United States is also running a special promotion on smartphone trade-ins. For a limited time, they will give you at least $100 for any working smartphone when you upgrade via a two-year agreement with AT&T or Verizon.
