See What’s New In Apple’s iOS 8 Beta 2

June 17, 2014
We've only just begun taking a look at iOS 8 beta 2, which Apple released earlier in the day. As new features are uncovered, we'll be adding them to this post. Changes in iOS 8 beta 2 Apple's Podcasts app now comes preinstalled with iOS. Previously, you had to install it from the App Store. Subsequently, this change means you can no longer delete the app. The first time you click on the Photos app in iOS 8 beta 2, you're now asked whether you'd like to use the new iCloud Photos feature in iOS 8. Home Data is now an option in the Settings app. Its located under Privacy. So far, Home Data only says "Applications that have requested access to home data will appear here." The iBooks app now has a translucent background. What's interesting is that the background "turns on" like a light bulb would. In Messages, all conversations can now be marked as read.   The new QuickType functionality in iOS 8 is now available on the iPad. Previously, it only worked on the iPhone/iPod touch.
