Epicurious users will now experience Apple iBeacon technology in stores

Condé Nast's Epicurious has announced a new partnership with Swirl Networks to bring users of its mobile app in-store digital experiences that are powered by Apple’s iBeacon technology. As part of the agreement, Swirl beacons installed in retail shopping locations throughout North America will now serve as a trigger to provide lifestyle content and personalized offers to the 9 million users of the Epicurious app for iPhone.
In making the announcement, Epicurious notes:
Today's announcement didn't indicate which stores with Swirl beacons would be sending notifications to Epicurious app users. However, it probably isn't too hard to figure this out.
Last month, Swirl beacons began greeting customers at Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor stores across Canada and the United States. Its other retail customers include Alex and Ani, Timberland, and Kenneth Cole.
