Cases for Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus begin arriving to customers

September 16, 2014

Last Friday, I placed orders online for an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus as well as Apple leather cases for each.

Conceptually, I know there is a size difference between the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. Nonetheless, I was very surprised just how different the sizes are when the cases are put side by side.

Also take note of the difference between the iPhone 6 Plus and the LG G3 — keeping in mind that they both have a 5.5-inch screen.

Here’s the iPhone 6 case inside the one for the iPhone 6 Plus:

If you haven’t yet ordered an Apple leather or silicone case for your new iPhone, you may be out of luck. It looks like new shipments won’t be arriving until October:

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch on Friday in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

They launch in more than 20 additional countries beginning on Friday, Sept. 26 including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates.

The iPhone 6 is available for $199 (16GB), $299 (64GB), and $399 (128GB). The iPhone 6 Plus is priced at $299 (16GB), $399 (64GB), and $499 (128GB). Prices quoted require the signing of a two-year contract. Prices may differ in other countries.
